We came here on a family holiday, it was really hot as it was August but on Oasis it was rather windy, and the bar did have sun brolleys to hire and with a dip in the great big pool or the Jacuzzi, it soon cooled us down.
All the people that stayed there were all so friendly, I suppose it’s because it’s not a big complex so it makes it more friendly and easier to get to know people, especially when most people meet up around the bar area on the quiz, bingo and raffle nights. All the children got to make friends with each other also.

The apartment we rented off a family friend. It was a 2 bedroom and we were all very surprised at how spacious it was, and was just home from home.

We went on a number of trips, boat trip £10 for all day including meal, jeep Safari [very wet] Aqua park [10 mins away] Sirince Village [wine tasting] Ephesus and the local Apollo temple.
They had a free mini bus to take you to town centre and back 3 times a day, this only takes 5 mins and if you want to go to the beach you just phone at reception and a mini bus will pick you up to take you there, GREAT.
The complex is in a quiet local area with a few shops and restaurants very close by and a supermarket just 10mins away. On a Saturday they have a local market which is a 10 minute walk from the apartment.

All in all we had a fab time and would recommend it to anyone that didn’t want a busy hotel and all the noisy entertainment, people that goes with it.

Altinkum is rapidly developing. Weather and beaches superb. People very friendly. Restaurants reasonable - recommend Pinocchio's Pub on the beach front - 2 courses for 2 people with drinks YTL 55. Day trips from town were excellent. Arranged ours through Oracle (100 metres from end of Ataturk on left). Shopping trip to Soke market and Kusadasi bazaar(YTL 20 each). Stopped at leather and jewellery factories.

In all places take the time to discuss and bargain with suppliers. My wife now has a superb leather jacket(YTL 240 - price started at 360). Go for a day trip around the bays. Recommend the ‘Sunshine’ - Ayfer and Erdal Kamaci provide an excellent days excursion for YTL 15. Cars are not needed. Nearly all restaurants will pick you up and drop you back after. Any excursions will pick you and drop you back.

Most hotels and villa complexes have courtesy buses to pick you up and drop you into town. If you are driving south do not miss the airport turnoff. The airport is actually 40k north of Bodrum. There is a superb Turkish restaurant in the Total garage on the northbound lane of the D330. About 4k before the airport turnoff - 3 course meal for two with drinks - YTL 35. The family that run the operation only speak Turkish. There is no menu - just whatever dishes they have prepared that day.
We had spinach and cheese done in pastry with side salad to start. Main course was stuffed aubergine and rice, desert was baklava. All dishes were superb.

It was our first holiday in Turkey and it turned out to be one of the most expensive holidays we have ever been on.
We enjoyed it so much we decided to buy an apartment in Altinkum.

The apartment complex we stayed in was modern, clean and quiet. Most of them privately owned.
Altinkum is now a thriving holiday resort popular with British holidaymakers.

We made friends with staff at the Penguin bar on Third beach, but then we found that all the Turkish people we met were very friendly and welcoming.
We were lucky with two weeks of total hot sunny weather.
The only down side to the holiday is that Altinkum is just one building site due to the expansion of the holiday home market.

Akbuk is a much smaller town, very peaceful and tranquil area.
We are going back next year to finalise our purchase of the apartment in the third beach area.

Would recommend this area if you are looking for a new holiday home.

Hello Sevgi and all at Oracle,

I am just writing to say a big thank you to you for sorting our airport transfers and car hire out during our recent holiday in the Royal Marina. The complex looks fantastic now it’s been painted.
This is our 3rd year now taking holidays in Turkey and the place gets better and better. I must say Oracle so far as a company have proven to be the best we have come across. The complex and the gardens are really looking well and i feel i must comment on Mehmet in reception! This lad can not do enough to help you and very friendly with his attitude towards you too. A real credit to the complex. Please keep up the good standards you have set yourselves. My family came for the first time this year with us and they all said how fantastic the complex was as a whole! My Daughter is even thinking into buying an apartment on the complex.

Many, many thanks for keeping your promises to us when we first purchased with you, you have been true to your word, we never want to come home!!!

I have just returned from a two and a half week stay at the Royal Marina Apartments and had a fantastic time. After reading the reviews on here i was slightly put off especially the one regarding the boys working at the pool bar. All the staff this year are new, so please dont be put off by this!

They are all very friendly and happy to asist you with anything.

Kobra and Orhan speak fantastic english and Lorraine who also works in the bar is always on hand to have a chat and give you the English point of view on things.
The staff this year fantastic and are definitely nothing like i read in the reviews about staff last year.
They have BBQ nights on Wednesday at the pool bar and Curry and Quiz nights on Fridays, I would definitely recommend them both!

The food is lovely and only a couple of lira more than you would pay in the town so its worth having a lazy night by the pool bar. Room service from the pool bar is also available for when you just want to stay in. The complex is nice and clean and the apartments were furnished to an excellent standard with everything you need for a home from home holiday.

The noise from the bar is minimal and wont disrupt any early nights that you want.
I would definitely recomend the Roayl Marina Apartments and the Bar there.
Royal marina is also only a short walk from everything but far enough away to not be kept awake until the early hours.

I will be returning to Royal Marina later this year and cant wait.

Positives

Attractive apartments - lovely, secure and well maintained.
  • Good location- near main square but not too close to hustle and bustle, bus stop close by.
  • Friendly staff - very helpful, keen to assist in any way they can.
  • Pools - clean and spacious.

Negatives

  • Sunbed scramble - communal beds were difficult to come by, of those available many were broken. Some owners have their own beds which they have chained up - check before booking.
  • Dust - if staying in a back facing apartment you will find that your balcony will be covered with dust from the nearby 'roads' which is blown by passing cars.

Good stay overall, would return.

We had a great time at Royal Marina. The pool area is great fun without being too loud. The snack bar/restaurant is excellent and the staff very friendly.

The apartments are roomy, modern, clean and finished to an excellent standard. It felt more like upmarket Spanish accomodation.

As it was close to the beach and the resort centre we used our apartment as a base to get out and about.

Hi well thanks to trip advisor I took your advice and visited Altinkum for the first time it was fab. We stayed at the Royal Marina Apartments. It was great clean all mod cons including washing machine we had a park side view with balcony it was so peacefull.

Staff were great too. There are things to do at the complex two big swimming pools and games room, also a park for smaller ones. There is also entertainment, and a bar /restuarant.

We were very close to Dolphin square and the three beaches we walked it in five mins. And Altinkum itself is great loads to do and see. It is very laid back and friendly. And although we was on the go with activities like horse riding ,diving, jeep safari, water parks ect we came home with money. I took my teenage children and we had a ball, they went for a manicure and turkish baths, and the night clubs are fantastic you dance under the stars as the night club is built into a cliff face.

The place is just great and with the apartment it was like home from home.

Will be back there next year as it is stunning.
